This is a few days old, but earlier last week this video was posted to youtube by a gentlemen who calls himself "Merton". Many people immediately speculated that this was Ben Folds but Merton responded, denying that fact. Ben Folds must have heard about this and thought it was amusing, because he staged a tribute to Merton at his concert in Charlotte NC Friday night, live on stage. First video if Merton's original.
