Today was one of those days in which I caught a glimpse of colors in the clouds just before sunset and deciced to head out to the lake as fast as possible with my camera. Also, I'd like to point out, all of the photos posted on this blog, up until this point, were taken with either my iPhone 6 Plus or iPhone 6S Plus. That this still surprises people when I mention it (and it does) baffles me.

Something I discovered over the holidays from family members who also have new iPhones and exclaim to me, "I just can't take good photos with my iPhone like you can!". Try turning your flash off. So much of the time everyone, especially people who don't understand light with respect to photography, leave their flash on because they think it is needed to make the photos better. Most of the time flash screws up the lighting of your photos and is not necessary. I think the last time I used a flash on the camera was my old Canon Powershot A600 I had in 2006. Turn off your flash. Trust me.
