I've been working an a 1-hour documentary on cicadas since 2007, and now have a crowd-funding campaign going on over at http://www.returnofthecicadas.com The project has already successfully raised over $30,000 on kickstarter; http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/motionkicker/return-of-the-cicadas This video can be embedded (via vimeo please) on third-party websites as long as you credit me (Samuel Orr) as the filmmaker, and please mention the crowd-funding project. Contact me if you want to feature the film or excerpts in broadcast media. Dexter Britain is the composer/musician of the music track, "Ardor" http://dexterbritain.co.uk/

Having two pictures of the exact same lightning bolt lets you do something pretty amazing; reconstruct its path in 3D. In this case because the precise location and elevation of the photographers isn't known this is slightly more art than science, but it is still fun! This is amazing. You have to check out the photos.
A huge thanks to Jim Ray for sharing this tip. This is so useful to me that I felt compelled to share it. Someone, at iPhoneFAQ writes:
The iPhone will store and dial extensions to phone numbers in a couple of different ways, depending on how you decide to interact with the answering system on the other end. In short, you can have a number for a contact in your iPhone's address book to also store their extension or conference call ID/password/whatever. When you place the call, a new button is present on your phone's UI which will dial the stored code. Check out the guide to see exactly how to store these and how it works.
The House of Cards "House of Nerds" video spoof for the 2013 White House Correspondents Dinner.
As to what it will look like? Neither of the following two photos are of our house, or our exact house's future look OR the colors we picked, but it should give you a general idea.
The first photo shows the garage configuration, with the doors facing the road. The problems with this photo is that is lacks the rock base around the home and porch, and the garage has a side extension, which we aren't getting.
This second photo gives you an example of the rock base around the home & porch, but keep in mind it has the dormers on the roof and the garage is facing the wrong way - both of which we aren't getting.
