CivCity: Rome Announced

2K Games sent out this press release announcing that the company will publish CivCity: Rome, a new Civilization spin-off that will focus on city building. Firefly Studios and Firaxis Games will team up to develop the game, which is due out this summer. Screenshots are here.

In CivCity: Rome, gamers will recreate the glory of Rome by building a small settlement into a mighty imperial city. Featuring hundreds of buildings including gladiatorial schools, amphitheatres, the circus maximus, legionnaire forts, weapons workshops and much more, CivCity: Rome offers the most detailed look at Roman life ever depicted on a computer screen.

Civilization IV: Warlords Announced

In another press release 2K Games today announced that Firaxis Games is working on Civilization IV: Warlords, the first expansion pack for the award winning strategy game. The add-on is due out this summer and will feature the following.

Warlords pays homage to some of history's greatest military leaders, delivering six new scenarios, giving players the chance to change the course of history with the help of their new powerful "warlord" unit. The expansion pack is loaded with new civilizations, new leaders and more units, resources and wonders that can be used in both single and multiplayer games.

Sid Meier's Railroads! Announced

And one more 2K Games press release as the company also announced Sid Meier's Railroads!, a new installment in the Railroad Tycoon series. In the game you'll have to build your your own railroad empire, managing trains and cargo while fending off competitors and robbers. Railroads! is due out this fall.

"Railroads is near and dear to our hearts and we're looking forward to delivering the endlessly fun gameplay experience fans of our games have come to expect." Cities and industries grow up around you as Sid Meier's Railroads! enables players to lay track and route trains, haul raw materials to market and carry manufactured goods throughout the land. Sid Meier's Railroads! introduces a large number of different single-player game scenarios and a variety of play modes including the "sand-box" modeling mode, real-time LAN and Internet play.

Black & White 2 Expansion Coming

Sup game announcements. Lionhead has announced that it is developing a Black & White 2 expansion pack called Battle of the Gods. Lionhead promises the expansion will feature a "much darker, more sinister game world", and will add a new creature, two new lands, six new challenges and four additional miracles. Enemy AI has also been reworked. Black & White 2: Battle of the Gods will be released by EA some time this year.

Robertson Finds Radical Muslims ‘Satanic’

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Television evangelist Pat Robertson said Monday on his live news-and-talk program "The 700 Club" that Islam is not a religion of peace, and that radical Muslims are "satanic."

He remarked that the outpouring of rage elicited by cartoons "just shows the kind of people we're dealing with. These people are crazed fanatics, and I want to say it now: I believe it's motivated by demonic power. It is satanic and it's time we recognize what we're dealing with."

Robertson also said that "the goal of Islam, ladies and gentlemen, whether you like it or not, is world domination."
