Apple Announced New Products Today

Here is a transcript w/ pictures of the entire keynote summarized over at Engadget.

The gist of it:

New Mac Mini with 2 different versions

"We have two models, 1.5GHz Intel Core Solo, 512MB RAM, 60GB hard drive, Combo Drive. $599. Second model is 1.67GHz Core Duo, 512MB RAM, 80GB drive Super Drive. $799" - Steve Jobs

Some new mac software announcements that have to do with OSX.

A new iPod accessory. Now I know there are tons of iPod accessories out there but they are all made by 3rd party vendors and very few are made by Apple. Naturally, when Apple releases one theirselves it gets more news because its usually very welll done/expensive.

The iPod Hi-Fi. Its a boombox you can plug your iPod into but its like the Bose equivalent of one. 250 watt output or something of the sort etc etc. Retails at 349$.

iPod Hi-Fi pictures can be found here.

Extremetech has an excellent article that goes past the marketing hype you hear about the new upcoming Windows Vista and outlines a whole slew of changes that are coming with the new OS from Microsoft. The article is about 10 pages long but I strongly strongly recommend you read it. It is very informative and for the first time ever, has me looking forward to Vista.

What happens when you mix the internet, dumb politicians, and kids?

Wired news will enlighten you.

Clip from Wired article:

"In recent weeks newspapers from the San Francisco Chronicle to the Rutland Herald have pressed out stories -- often on the front page -- with headlines like "Online Danger Zone" and "The Trouble With MySpace." An NBC Dateline show in January colored MySpace "a cyber secret teenagers keep from tech-challenged parents.""

This week’s video wrap-up

I've ran across a number of very amusing videos in the past week. I thought I'd share:

For all of your Battlefield 2 fans, here is how to ride the UAV.

Apparently this kid just wants his change back.

This is somewhat old(2003) but its still funny. Its a parody of the mac switch ads.

And who doesn't like songs about SysAdmins.

Or five babies who cant stop laughing at their dad...in sync with each other.

Here is a hilarious musical trio called Tripod who performs a funny song about computer gamers at a comedy festival.

Here is a family guy clip that I hadn't ever seen before that I thought was great.

This baby likes disco.

Finally, did you know that Peter Griffon did the top 10 list on Letterman last friday?
