Martin ingeniously hacked an old Nintendo Entertainment Center controller to act as the chassis for an MP3 player. He even got the control-buttons to drive the MP3 player! Link (in German)

This could solve the "spacing" issue that the menu you currently use has, also it would be MUCH easier to implement(rather that the complex dreamweaver/fireworks thingie and then cut and pasting the code). I don't mind helping you to get it to work because I would like to learn how to use it as well.
